Recent parish news and announcements
Here are recent announcements from around the Parish community:
- A Statement from Fr. Jeff Concerning the Kentucky Tornadoes
The recent tornadoes and violent weather that hit the Midwest and Mid-South, were very devastating. Some of the most devastated areas are in the Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky. Currently, the diocese, and more specifically, the people and parishioners of Mayfield, Kentucky and surrounding Graves County, are receiving a great amount of assistance and aid. The St. Joseph Church Parish Center, in Mayfield, is being used as a pantry/receiving station for the truckloads of aid being sent. The people are very appreciative of the support they are receiving. If you would like to give to the relief efforts for the tornado victims in the Diocese of Owensboro, Kentucky, the following link will take you to the Diocese Giving page: “owensborodiocese.org”.
After the new year, we, as the parishes of Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception, will take a collection of money and necessities to take to Mayfield. Fr. Eric Riley, the Pastor, is a good friend of Fr. Jeff’s. He said the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. He is afraid of what will happen after the giving spirit of the Holidays ends. So, if you would like to wait and participate with the support from Sacred Heart and Immaculate Conception, that will be greatly appreciated too. In the meantime, please pray for our sisters and brothers affected by the tornadoes in Kentucky, the Midwest and the South.
- THANK YOU to the Catholic Foundation, who has given St. Mary’s Cemetery a grant for $25,000 to repave the old roads and to pave the new road at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
